S. 5349 — DEPOTS Act

This section authorizes the Secretary of Defense to write off or eliminate internal Department accounting charges, such as remaining depreciation or internal debt, for capital assets at Department of Defense depots and arsenals that do not generate revenue due to mission realignments. Write-offs must recover any prior cash outlays from revolving funds, apply only to internal financial balances and not contractor payments, and may be delegated to the secretaries of the military departments.
