S. 4666 — Respect Tribal IDs Act of 2026

This section requires the Secretary of Homeland Security, in collaboration with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and consultation with Indian tribes, to develop training curricula within 180 days of enactment of the Respect Tribal IDs Act of 2026 for all immigration enforcement officers on protocols for interacting with enrolled tribal members, identifying and accepting Native American tribal documents as proof of United States citizenship, accessing examples of such documents, and the federal trust responsibility. It prohibits officers from performing enforcement duties unless they complete region-specific training and annual retraining, and directs submission of an implementation report to six specified congressional committees within one year.
