H.R. 9843 — Enhancing Electric Grid Resilience Act

This section authorizes entities proposing to own, control, or operate a transmission facility of national significance to file tariffs with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission allocating its costs. The Commission must allocate costs within the applicable transmission planning region or regions roughly commensurate with estimated benefits, including reliability, economic, public policy, and resilience benefits. The term covers new interstate or offshore lines of at least 1,000 megawatts capacity and expansions or upgrades increasing capacity by at least 500 megawatts, both completed on or after the date of enactment.
