H.R. 9794 — To direct the Secretary of Defense to establish the Senator Robert J. Dole Greatest Generation Education Program.

This section establishes the Senator Robert J. Dole Greatest Generation Education Program under the Secretary of Defense to increase public awareness of the Greatest Generation’s achievements, sacrifices, and lessons from World War II. It authorizes grants to state and local governments and nonprofit organizations for activities honoring veterans and their families, educating the public on U.S. armed forces and the home front, remembering the Holocaust, engaging students, and supporting events at sites such as the National World War II Memorial, while limiting state governments to new initiatives outside existing secondary education programs.
