H.R. 9256 — Ending Child Soldiers in Africa Act

This section requires the Secretary of Defense, in coordination with the Secretary of State and the Commander of United States Africa Command, to submit a report to the congressional defense committees within 180 days assessing the effects of child soldiering in Africa on United States national security interests. The report must evaluate links to violent extremism, terrorism, transnational crime, displacement, Sahel and West African instability, and threats to critical minerals; recruitment methods by extremist groups; United States, allied, and African-led prevention and reintegration efforts; and the feasibility of establishing related programs in United States Central, Southern, and Indo-Pacific Commands and an Africa-based center for research, training, and capacity building in covered countries.
