This section establishes a National Science Foundation demonstration program authorizing up to $5 million annually for FY2027 through FY2031 to make competitive awards to institutions of higher education, nonprofits, and consortia for projects improving mentorship practices, building mentoring skills, promoting evidence-based mentorship, training in cultural competencies, and related outreach, with special consideration for minority-serving institutions, historically Black colleges and universities, Tribal Colleges and Universities, rural-serving institutions, emerging research institutions, and their consortia. It also requires institutions and the agency to report processes addressing harassment, discrimination, and other professional or scientific misconduct in connection with NSF awards.
