H.R. 8920 — Restoring the American Homebuyers Dream Act

This section states findings that illegal immigration has created a crisis in the housing market for American families, with a direct correlation to increased housing costs including double-digit rises in areas with the highest rates of illegal immigration, and that illegal aliens have used Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers to secure housing loans in competition with American families.

This section authorizes the Secretary of the Treasury to disclose, upon written request from the Secretary of Homeland Security, the name, address, ITIN, filing status, and ITINs of any claimed spouse or dependents over age 18 for individuals issued ITINs, solely for enforcing federal immigration laws. The amendment applies to disclosures made after the date of enactment.
