H.R. 8778 — EV Charging Accessibility Act

This section directs the Architectural and Transportation Barriers Compliance Board to finalize within 18 months of enactment the proposed rule on American With Disabilities Act and Architectural Barriers Act accessibility guidelines for electric vehicle charging stations issued September 3, 2024. It requires the final rule to set minimum standards for charging stations and accessibility guidelines, deems the proposed rule final if the deadline is missed, and requires the Secretary of Transportation and the Attorney General to adopt implementing regulations within 180 days.
