H.R. 3144 — Honoring our K9 Heroes Act

This section establishes a Department of Homeland Security grant program under which eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofit entities—with at least two years of providing medical care assistance to retired Federal law enforcement and military working dogs—may receive funding to cover a portion of medical expenses for retired Federal working dogs that have received a retirement letter from their employing agency and are in the care of their handler. The section authorizes $1,000,000 annually for FY2026 through FY2030.
