H.R. 10791 — Italian Heroes and Heritage Act

This section makes findings on Christopher Columbus's 1492 voyage and the 1892 establishment of Columbus Day following the lynching of 11 Italian-Americans in New Orleans. It expresses the sense of Congress that October 12th should continue to be celebrated nationwide as Christopher Columbus Day to honor Italian-American heritage.

This section prohibits the obligation or expenditure of Federal funds to any State or unit of local government that celebrates Indigenous Peoples Day instead of Columbus Day, beginning after October 12, 2026, and on each Columbus Day thereafter.
