H.R. 10199 — Sell Your Stocks or Step Down Act

This section prohibits the President, Vice President, Members of Congress, senior executive branch and judicial officials, and their spouses and dependent children from owning or trading covered investments, including securities, commodities (as defined in 7 U.S.C. 1a), futures, digital assets, and event contracts. It requires divestiture at fair market value within 30 days of enactment or of becoming a covered individual, while exempting diversified mutual funds, Treasury securities, municipal bonds, small business interests, and certain Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act stock.
